Serra Retreat sits atop a 26 acre knoll in beautiful Malibu with views of the Pacific Ocean as well as the Santa Monica Mountains. There are paths and walkways with benches for our guests to read, meditate, and enjoy the manicured gardens. The Center has two large conference rooms: one accommodates between 25 and 35 people, and the other accommodates between 35 and 120. In addition there are two smaller meeting rooms. There are 60 fully furnished bedrooms that can accommodate 120 people. The Retreat Dining Room offers a sparkling sweep of the ocean, less than a mile away. The Chapel, which can seat 120, is especially breath-taking with panoramic views.
With a request at least 3 weeks prior, individual, personal retreats on weekdays and weekends are always welcome. If spiritual counseling is desired, Serra Retreat will try to provide Spiritual Direction.
Group Retreats, Meetings, and Conferences
Serra Retreat welcomes groups who wish to use the facilities and grounds for retreats, meetings, or conferences, either for a day or overnights. There are 2 large meeting rooms (120 maximum seating) and several smaller rooms, as well as a chapel that seats 120. Wi-fi is available without charge throughout the buildings.
With panoramic views, both the Chapel and the Point are spectacular venues for Wedding Ceremonies. Our beautiful Spanish-style facilities offer two locations to celebrate after the ceremony. Informal receptions may be held at the Bell Tower, while more formal receptions may be held at the Fountain Court. Due to space limitations, the capacity is limited to 120 guests.
Celebrating the Life of a Loved One
The peaceful and serene surroundings of Serra Retreat make the center a wonderful place to celebrate the life of a loved one who has passed on. Memorials can be held either in the Chapel or at the Point. Both the Bell Tower and the Fountain Court offer a beautiful place to gather following the service.
