Welcome to this special online edition of The Way of St. Francis! If this is the first time you've seen
The Way, you probably have a few questions.
Who are the Franciscans?
Who is St. Francis?
What do the Franciscans do?
For more than 800 years now, men and women have followed in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, who in turn walked in the footsteps of our Risen Lord Jesus Christ. Today the Franciscan tradition is continually reborn in the lives and works of the Franciscan Friars, the Poor Clares, the Franciscan Sisters and Secular Franciscans. Our mission
at The Way is to give you a view of our world through the eyes and ears and hearts of those who follow Francis in their daily lives.
The Way has been published bimonthly for more than fifty years by the Franciscan Friars of the Province of Saint Barbara. Almost 300 friars live and work here in the western United States, as well as hundreds of Franciscan sisters and thousands of Secular Franciscan men and women (children too, no doubt!). The stories in
The Way are the stories of these Franciscan lives and works. We hope they will inspire you, challenge you, invite you to make the Franciscan vision a part of your everyday life.
